- "Meena said that every single girl our age needs either a cat or a gay best friend. I figured a cat would be less fuss."
- —Molly Hooper about her acquisition of Toby.
Toby is a cat owned by St Bartholomew's Hospital employee Molly Hooper. He was bought on February 2, 2010 and by March 25 he was sleeping on Molly's bed.
Molly initially wanted to name him after Sherlock Holmes, but thought that Toby looked too cute and fluffy to go under Sherlock's name.
Toby has only appeared on Molly Hooper's blog, in the blog posts from February 2 post and March 25 post and the comments on the March 30 post.
Behind the scenesEdit
- In the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle novel The Sign of the Four, Toby was a dog used by Holmes to track a smell through the streets of London.
