Stephen Bainbridge is a Private in Her Majesty’s Household Guard. He was on guard at Wellington Barracks[1] when he noticed he was being stalked by a mysterious man. In late 2013 or early 2014,[2] he requested the assistance of the consulting detective Sherlock Holmes about the stalker.

However when Stephen was on duty at Wellington Barracks he was stabbed by Jonathan Small with a thin piece of metal, who at the time was pretending to take a photo. When Stephen later went off duty and had a shower, the belt no longer supplied sufficient pressure to the wound and it started to bleed. Miraculously John Watson arrived just in time and was able to prevent his death. He was then sent off to hospital.

Stephen Bainbridge appeared in the Sherlock episode The Sign of Three. He was also mentioned on John Watson's blog.
