James "Jimmy" Phillimore (1991-2 - November 26, 2009) was a first year student at Roland Kerr Further Education College and garage worker who died at the hands of the cab driving serial killer Jeff Hope.

On the night of November 26, 2009, James and his best friend Gary Jenkins were walking down a rainy London street. James decided to walk home to collect his mother's umbrella. He caught a cab from Jeff Hope who drove him to the Norbridge sports centre. Jeff then forced him to chose a pill bottle and consume a pill, possibly by gunpoint. He chose the fatal pill and promptly died from poisoning.

His body was found at seven o'clock the next morning. His death was the subject of an article by the crime correspondent Aileen Hickey.

Allusions to Conan Doyle storiesEdit

The character James Phillimore was mentioned in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's story The Problem of Thor Bridge. The original Watson wrote about the unsolved case of Sherlock Holmes':

"Among these unfinished tales is that of Mr. James Phillimore, who, stepping back into his own house to get his umbrella, was never more seen in this world."
